Rehab and Rehoming
Rehabilitation and Rehoming Program
This page is dedicated to the dogs we have rehabilitated and are now looking for homes. They all have unique stories, most sad, but they are also SUCCESS stories.
Through the years we have opened our doors to several dogs not in our program. When one needed help, when another was in need, when the last has issues we commonly dealt with.
It seemed that we became quite good at rehabilitating dogs of all kinds, not just labradors. It started with some behavioural problems, then some medical problems and even some breeding problems. We just couldn't turn them away because these GOOD dogs just needed a chance.
With rescues being full, shelters being overwhelmed and our hearts hurting we decided to become regulars in this department. We are not a rescue, we don't look for problem dogs, we don't accept problem dogs freely. But when the right situation comes around and we know we can make a big difference, we have chosen to say YES.
When looking for the right dog for you, sometimes life leads you in directions you don't expect. Sometimes what you want isn't what you need. Maybe the connection is waiting for you on this page.
Below are the candidates that are ready for re-homing. We will tell you as much as we can about them but usually we don't know a lot.
This is Black Betty or BB for short. She came to us with dire circumstances as she was in the middle of labour and very stressed. She had 2 deceased puppies already. Once we took her into our care, she delivered one more puppy and it was weak but alive. With proper neonatal care it grew strong. Shortly after BB developed severe mastitis and became ill so special care was taken to make sure she recovered and prospered while raising her baby.
She is great with dogs big and small, cats, kids and is a very sweet cuddly girl. She is house trained but doesn't know basic commands. She doesn't have separation anxiety but with all the change in her life stability and routine are comforting for her. She is now spayed, up to date on vaccines and deworming and ready to be adopted.
Her adoption price is $500 and would do well in a home with good routine and people with her as she is happiest with company. We think she is Cavalier x Poodle mix breed and weights 11lbs.
This is Timbit. He is BB's baby boy. He is adorable, cuddly and playful. So far his personality is so sweet and cuddly like his mother's. We don't have a clue what the father is, but from his slight underbite and brown fluffy fur, our best guess is Shitzu. So with 3 potential breeds, he is a true Heinz 57, the cutest variety.
His adoption fee is $700 and will come with vaccines, deworming, and microchip.
